Why I’ll Never Tell You To "Pick One Thing"

(A love letter to multi-passionate creatives)

If you’ve ever been told to "just pick one thing", you’re probably a multi-passionate human - and you’ve probably rolled your eyes more times than you can count.

Turns out:
Some of us aren’t here to do just one thing.
We’re built for curiosity, creativity, and ideas that refuse to stay in a single box.

That’s not a problem to fix.
That’s magic.

You’re not “too much.”
You’re not “unfocused.”
You’re a multi-passionate, creative human - and you get to build a life that reflects all of who you are.

🌿 Why "Pick One Thing" Is Terrible Advice

It’s advice designed for people who thrive in straight lines and neat labels - which is great… if you’re a farmer.
But if you’re anything like me (and most of the people I work with), trying to force yourself into that mould feels suffocating.

You don’t need to narrow yourself down to be successful.
You need ways to explore your ideas without getting stuck in overwhelm or burning out.

✨ So, How Do You Handle Having So Many Passions?

1. Own It. Fully.
No more explaining, no more justifying. This is who you are - curious, creative, expansive.

2. Forget The Linear Path
Success doesn’t have to look like one job title, one project, or one “calling.”
You’re allowed to build a patchwork life that lights you up.

3. Get Support That Gets It
You don’t have to figure out how to balance it all alone.
(That’s where I come in - but more on that in a minute.)

💬 You’re Exactly Who I Work With

If this feels familiar, you’re my kind of human.
I coach multi-passionate, creative, often neurodivergent folks who are tired of being told to simplify themselves.

If you’re ready to stop feeling stuck and start making progress that actually feels good (without ditching half your ideas), I’ve got a couple of ways to help:

👉 Grab a free copy of WHAT TO DO NEXT: The Creative Reorientation Handbook for a gentle starting point.
👉 Or book a WHAT TO DO NEXT Session when you’re ready to talk it through.

No pressure. No rules. Just options.

Allison ✨
