How To Move Forward When Motivation DISAPPEARS
(Because waiting to ‘feel like it’ isn’t working, is it?)
You know that feeling when you’ve got things you want to do (or need to do)...
But motivation? Nowhere to be seen.
No text. No call. Just... gone.
Motivation has officially ghosted you.
And suddenly, you're stuck in that familiar limbo:
Too overwhelmed to start.
Too guilty to rest.
Too tired to care.
If that’s where you are - hi, welcome. Pull up a chair.
You’re not lazy. You’re not broken.
You’re just human (and probably a creative, multi-passionate one at that).
🌿 Here’s How To Gently Get Moving Again:
1. Forget Motivation - Look For Momentum
Motivation is flaky. Momentum isn’t.
Start with anything - something so small it feels silly.
Answer one email. Open the doc. Wash a mug.
Momentum builds quietly, but it shows up more reliably than waiting for a magical burst of energy.
2. Create a ‘Done is Enough’ List
Forget perfect. Forget productive.
What are 1-3 tiny things that, if done, let you say "I did something today"?
Example:
Sent that one message.
Ate something green.
Didn’t throw laptop out window.
Celebrate those.
3. Body First, Brain Later
(I know it’s bordering on woowoo, but stick with me…)
If your system is frozen, move your body gently - stretch, shake it out, step outside for 2 minutes.
It signals safety and can shift you out of paralysis mode.
4. Call In Support
You don’t get extra points for struggling solo.
Sometimes, the quickest way out of a motivation black hole is having someone hold space, ask the right questions, and remind you that you’re allowed to do this differently.
💬 You Don’t Have To Hustle - But You Can Get Unstuck
If this feels familiar, I’ve got resources for you: 👉 Start with a free copy of WHAT TO DO NEXT: The Creative Reorientation Handbook - zero pressure, just gentle prompts.
👉 Or, when you're ready for real momentum, book a WHAT TO DO NEXT Session - we’ll shift things together.
You don’t need ‘motivation’. You need something that actually works for you.
